Richard Liu Qiangdong, often called 'the Jeff Bezos of China,' and other defendants were hit with a lawsuit on Oct. 4 in Alaska District Court. The suit was filed by Richmond & Quinn and the Victor Rane Group on behalf of ANC AK Holdings d/b/a Ross Aviation, whose employee allegedly drove a truck into the wing of Liu's business jet. The plaintiff seeks a declaration that out of the nearly $24 million which Liu seeks in damages, about $20 million for loss of use and diminution in value is not recoverable. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants. The case is 3:23-cv-00229, ANC AK Holdings LLC v. Mingshen Pengrun (Tianjin) Aviation Leasing Co. Ltd. et al.
