New Suit - Consumer Class Action

Cigna, the health insurer, was slapped with a consumer class action on March 11 in Connecticut District Court over its use of 'procedure-to-diagnosis' or 'PxDx,' an algorithm used to evaluate medical claims. The suit, brought by Miller Shah LLP; Reese LLP; and Laukaitis Law, is part of a string of cases alleging that Cigna's use of the algorithm has resulted in automatic denials of hundreds of thousands of claims without proper medical review. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants. The case is 3:24-cv-00329, sachs v. Cigna Corporation.
