New Suit - Civil Rights, Defamation

Antioch University was hit with a civil rights lawsuit on April 15 in Washington Western District Court. The suit was brought by Balloun Law on behalf of an Antioch student who made a series of public videos expressing her criticisms of the school's DEI policies. The plaintiff argues that the school falsely labeled her videos as 'hate speech' containing comments of 'white supremacy' and 'transphobia.' Additionally, the plaintiff claims that Antioch retaliated against her by suspending her access to her online school account and email address without engaging in due process to expel her formally. Antioch University is represented by Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani. The case is 2:24-cv-00502, Elliott v. Antioch University.
