New Suit - Civil Rights

The Trustees of Princeton University was hit with a civil rights lawsuit on June 20 in New Jersey District Court in connection with the school's student conduct process. The court case was filed by Dillon PLLC and Ford O'Brien Landy LLP on behalf of an anonymous student who alleges that he was suspended for two years after two friends filed separate false charges that he choked each of them. The action states that Princeton's Committee on Discipline convicts more than 98% of the respondents who appear before it, and that the university further prejudiced the plaintiff's case because of pressure 'to appear tough at all costs' on assault claims brought by women against men. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 3:24-cv-07125, Doe v. Princeton University.
