The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission sued Mario E. Rivero, a former financial advisor, on Monday in New Jersey District Court over alleged violations of federal securities laws. The lawsuit accuses Rivero of fraudulently misappropriating at least $680,000 from investment accounts that he handled. Attorneys have not yet appeared for the defendant.
