New Suit - Privacy Class Action

Farmers Insurance was slapped with a data privacy class action Monday in California Central District Court. The suit, brought by Casey Gerry Schenk Francavilla Blatt & Penfield; and Lockridge Grindal Nauen, contends that the insurance provider exposed individual driver's license numbers through its online quoting system. According to the suit, hackers exploited the glitch, which displayed a driver's license number to anyone who entered a person's name, address or date of birth on its website. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 2:21-cv-04841, Stallone v. Farmers Insurance Company, Inc.
