Amazon.com was slapped with a patent infringement lawsuit Thursday in Delaware District Court. The court action was brought by Richards, Layton & Finger and Kirkland & Ellis on behalf of State Farm Insurance, which had partnered with Amazon to develop Sundial, a 'senior-living' and care support platform for Alexa-enabled devices. State Farm accuses Amazon of misappropriating State Farm’s patented technology to launch its own product, Care Hub. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 1:22-cv-01447, State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. v. Amazon.com, Inc. et al.
