New Suit - Alaska Airlines Flight 2059

Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air were hit with a class action on Nov. 2 in Washington Superior Court for King County over allegations that the airlines breached their duty to ensure flight safety. According to the complaint, on Oct. 22, 2023, an 'off duty' Alaska Airlines pilot, Joseph David Emerson, was allowed in the cockpit of Flight 2059, a San Francisco-bound flight, where he attempted to crash the aircraft by activating the fire suppression system to shut down the fuel to the engines. Emerson has since been charged with 83 counts of attempted murder. The court action was initiated by Stritmatter Kessler Koehler Moore. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants. The case is 23-2-21460-9 KNT, Dolan Et Al Vs Alaska Airlines Et Ano.
