Samuel E. Joyner of Frost Brown Todd has entered an appearance for Amaru Entertainment Inc. in a pending copyright infringement lawsuit. The complaint, filed June 13 in Texas Northern District Court by McKool Smith on behalf of Zelus Group LLC and Ronald Brent, a prominent artist known as 'Riskie' and creator of Tupac Shakur's original 'Makaveli' painting, seeks a declaratory judgment that Brent is the sole and exclusive owner of the copyright in the 'Makaveli' image and that Amaru does not have any ownership interest in the image. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Jane J. Boyle, is 3:22-cv-01281, Zelus Group LLC et al v. Amaru Entertainment Inc.
