Litigation Surge - Banking & Financial Services | Class Actions

Major banks were hit with a cluster of federal class actions last week. At least six federal class actions were filed against Fortune 500 banking and financial services companies, including three data breach class actions. Two of the data breach suits target Truist Bank over an Oct. 2023 cyberattack, while another data breach suit was filed against First American Financial over a Dec. 2023 cyberattack; all three cases accuse the banks of delaying for roughly half a year before disclosing the breaches.
