U.S. District Judge Jose Linares in New Jersey refused to dismiss a former municipal employee's suit, finding that a lawyer's duty of care can extend to nonclients. The employee alleges the lawyer deliberately misled and misinformed her about her rights regarding her complaints about the alleged harasser, a supervisor.
