Simpson, Cravath, Bredin Prat Tapped for KKR Listing

New York-based private equity giant KKR & Co. announced on Monday that it had agreed to merge with a European affiliate, KKR Private Equity Investors, which trades on the Euronext exchange in Amsterdam. Simpson Thacher & Bartlett reprised its role as KKR's longtime outside counsel of choice on the KPE listing. The firm has represented KKR on several high-profile deals in recent years and former Simpson partner David Sorkin joined the private equity firm in November 2007 as its first general counsel.

Freshfields Takes Lead for Vodafone on $6.5 Billion China Mobile Stake Sale

One of the world's largest wireless carriers announced on Wednesday that it would sell its 3.2 percent stake in China Mobile, the world's largest wireless operator by number of subscribers, for roughly $6.6 billion. Vodafone Group will return about 70 percent of the proceeds to shareholders through a stock repurchase. With Vodafone reportedly looking at selling some more of its various assets around the world, Freshfields hope to continue getting the call from the company for corporate work.
