Court records sealed by one judge can be opened by another, a California appeals court has ruled. The court upheld a judge's decision to unseal records -- after a document-by-document review -- in Broadcom co-founder Henry Nicholas' contentious divorce case. "We reject Nicholas' efforts to treat sealing orders as if they sealed caskets rather than presumptively open court records," the court said. The Los Angeles Times had argued that the blanket sealing order shielding the entire court file was unjustified.
