Qualcomm Attorneys Lawyer Up

The outside counsel involved in Qualcomm's discovery disaster have retained some well-known lawyers of their own. Day Casebeer Madrid & Batchelder and Heller Ehrman both represented Qualcomm in a patent infringement trial in which relevant documents were not turned over to the other side, Broadcom Corp. On Aug. 20, a San Diego federal magistrate judge ordered all attorneys from both firms who worked on the case to come forward and explain how the errors occurred at a special hearing set for Aug. 29.
