Former Admissions Director Sues Elite N.Y. School Over Diversity

The former admissions director of one of New York's most elite private schools can go forward with an unusual breach-of-contract suit accusing Riverdale County School of faking a commitment to diversity in its student body. A judge ruled that Shereem Herndon-Brown was not an at-will employee because his offer letter stated his salary would be paid in "twelve monthly installments." Herndon-Brown claims the school intended to use him as "window dressing" while maintaining discriminatory practices.
