The players are lined up and ready for action in the Federal Trade Commission's monopolization lawsuit against Intel Corp. Administrative Law Judge D. Michael Chappell issued a scheduling order, published Tuesday, setting a trial date of Sept. 15, 2010 -- and listing lawyers working on the case. The FTC charged Intel in December with using its dominant market position to illegally stifle competition in violation of Section 5 of the FTC Act.

Plaintiffs Firms Score $303 Million Class Action Settlement From GM, Deloitte

General Motors and Deloitte & Touche, two of the United States' leading automotive and accounting giants, have agreed to a $303 million class action settlement over allegations that GM made material misstatements in its financials dating back to 2000. As part of the agreement, GM will pay $277 million in cash to a class of its shareholders. GM's outside auditor, Deloitte, will contribute an additional $26 million in cash.
