Judge: Insurer Must Defend Homeowner Who Was Sued After Son Murdered Neighbor
An insurance company must defend a homeowner who was sued for negligence after her son decapitated and dismembered a neighbor, a New York state judge has ruled. Metropolitan Property and Casualty Insurance had argued that the murder was not an "accident" and was not covered by the woman's umbrella policy. However, a review of recent decisions issued by our appellate courts is instructive in determining whether the exclusion will preclude coverage in a given situation.Trending Stories
