The Indiana Attorney General's Office has reached a preliminary class action settlement this week with some state employees who sued the state government over working 2.5 hours per day without compensation during a 20-year period. The state has agreed to pay the plaintiffs and their lawyers up to $8.5 million to compensate for the unpaid work hours between 1973 and 1993 and to cover the cost of the litigation.
