Eversheds Employment Team Cut From Virgin Panel
Eversheds has been dropped from Virgin's formal panel of U.K. legal advisers, Legal Week has learned, in what will be viewed as a setback for the firm's employment practice. The U.K. giant confirmed last week it will no longer be handling Virgin's employment work. It had been appointed to an eight-strong roster of firms early last year to advise the high-profile conglomerate. Eversheds, a top 10 U.K. law firm, has entered into its fourth redundancy round, which could lead to as many as 117 layoffs. The consultation, announced Thursday, will lay off up to 22 fee earners in the real estate practice in what the firm said was a result of the negative economic climate and long-term decline of the real estate sector.
