It's too bad there's no instant replay in real life. Then we'd know whether Frank McCourt doctored a critical document granting him sole ownership of the baseball team. On Tuesday, an L.A. judge refused to come to that conclusion, but nevertheless declared the document invalid--effectively granting co-ownership of the team and its related assets to Jamie. At least for now.

2008 Associate Bonuses at Large Firms in Texas on Par With 2007

Last year was a good time to be an associate with Dallas-based Jackson Walker, where some associates received six-figure bonus checks. Other large Texas-based firms and out-of-state firms with large Texas operations also paid 2008 associate bonuses in December or plan to pay them during the first quarter of 2009. Terry W. Conner of Haynes and Boone says bonuses for senior associates were $50,000 to $70,000.
