Taking a Legal Poke at Pokemon
When Attorney Alan S. Hock hears "Pokemon," he thinks blackjack and dice. Hock says the real lure of Pokemon is in collecting the "premium" cards randomly inserted into packs. The odds of getting such a card are stated at 1 to 33. It is "gambling," charges Hock. In September, he filed a federal class action against Nintendo, its licensing agency, 4Kids Entertainment, and Wizards of the Coast under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act.Trending Stories
