Setting Boundaries

Boundary disputes arise in many ways. One of the most common is when one neighbor encroaches on the property of another, by installing a structure of some kind or by use of the neighbor's property on a recurring basis. A "use" encroachment is more commonly thought of as trespass, but over time that use can become increasingly important to the encroacher, as in the case of convenient access to the encroacher's premises. Both types of encroachment can lead to bad blood and, all too often, litigation.
