Judge blasts firm for 'bad faith'

In a damning 49-page order, a federal judge has found that attorneys Cary Ichter and Guy H. Weiss, the law firm of Adorno Yoss and their former client "blatantly misrepresented" the law, acted with "dishonesty" and in "bad faith," and, in Ichter's case, "violated the integrity of the judicial system.

Kentucky suit has Web world in tizzy

In a bid to combat online casinos, the state of Kentucky has attempted to halt Internet gambling by seizing 141 domain names whose owners are located primarily out of state or overseas. Kentucky, which prohibits online gambling, persuaded a state trial judge that the domain names were illegal gambling devices under state law, and the judge issued the forfeiture order to registrars of the domain names.

Fraternities, sororities suffer setback trying to stop unlicensed products

On Tuesday, U.S. District Judge James Lawrence King dismissed a lawsuit by 65 Greek organizations and affiliates against seven companies selling clothing and items with logos, crests and names. King said the Southern District of Florida was no longer a valid venue for the trademark infringement case since the only Florida company named in the lawsuit had entered into a consent decree, promising not to produce products with the Greek letters, insignia or crests of sororities or fraternities.
