MoFo Visionary Robert Raven, 1923-2004

Robert Raven, a former Morrison & Foerster partner who helped transform the firm into a global powerhouse and an influential champion of diversity in the legal profession, died Saturday after a long illness. He was 80. Raven joined MoFo more than 50 years ago, when it was just a handful of attorneys. He and a circle of young partners convinced the old guard to adopt changes that set the foundation for the 1,000-attorney megafirm it is today. He was also an early proponent of recruiting women and minorities.
