Prohibition did not change the thirst for hard liquor. Notwithstanding, for more than five years, the Recording Industry Association of America sued about 35,000 students and others for unlawful downloading to little effect. Now, the RIAA has halted its massive litigation campaign, apart from existing lawsuits, and is pressuring U.S. ISPs into adopting some sort of "three strikes" approach. It is a change in strategy - and very clever.
