Patent Lawyers Fight Limits on Federal Circuit
Patent litigator Edward Reines isn't a typical lobbyist. A partner at Weil Gotshal & Manges, he had never chatted with congressional staffers about legislation until this year. But a U.S. Supreme Court ruling in June 2002, Holmes Group v. Vornado Air Circulation Systems, got him so riled he took his complaints to Capitol Hill.
