State Bar of Georgia Division Plans to Fund Internships for Jobless Lawyers

The good news for rookie lawyers looking for jobs: The State Bar of Georgia's Young Lawyers Division plans to fund several 10-week legal aid internships to give new law school graduates work experience. The bad news: The internships won't happen until next summer. The YLD hopes to fund five $5,000 internships in public interest law with the proceeds from its annual January black-tie fundraiser, said the group's president, Amy V. Howell. The internships are for new lawyers seeking experience, said Howell.
