Baker Botts Is Latest Texas Firm to Give Associates Raises

Houston-based Baker Botts jumped on the bandwagon Monday and gave its Texas associates a nice, big raise. The firm is following Houston rival Vinson & Elkins, which announced a new, higher salary scale on March 8. Baker Botts also boosted figures all the way up the scale, which means their associates can potentially make a bit more than their V&E counterparts. First-year associates with Baker Botts will be paid a $140,000 base salary and can make up to $10,000 more in bonus pay.
