Conn. courts' highest-level case sealings handed out haphazardly
The highest level of secrecy ever employed in Connecticut's courts was evidently achieved with the lowest level of judicial reasoning. In March, the courts released sealing requests and orders for about 40 super-secret "Level 1" case files that remained active after 2003, the year when the Judicial Branch outlawed the most extreme sealing category.
