Cozen O'Connor Raises 1st-Year Pay by $10K

In a move that could start a domino effect among large firms, Philadelphia-based Cozen O'Connor has bumped up its first-year associate salaries for the first time in five years. The firm has raised its starting wage to $110,000 and eliminated lock-step raises for associates in their fourth year and above, replacing them with a merit-based structure. Two midsize firms also have announced pay hikes, while a handful of large firms say they're considering whether to follow suit.
