Big-Tex Firms Post Biggest Overall Revenue Increase in Five Years

Happy days seem to be back at the 25 highest-grossing firms based in Texas. Combined gross revenue at Texas' 25 highest-grossing firms improved by a healthy 8.9 percent in 2006, compared to 2005, and net income went up by an even rosier 11.1 percent, according to this year's Annual Report on Firm Finance.

Retired 2nd Court Justice John Cayce Ends Dispute With TEC Over Report

John Cayce retired as chief justice of Fort Worth's 2nd Court of Appeals on Dec. 31, 2009. But the Texas Ethics Commission staff contended Cayce had a duty to file a campaign finance report on July 15. In the end, Cayce (pictured) avoided a monetary penalty for filing it late. Cayce maintains he was not an officer of the state after Dec. 31, 2009.
