Fen-Phen Plaintiffs Dealt Blow in Pa., Federal Court

Plaintiffs who took the fen-phen diet drugs suffered setbacks last week in two courts -- one state, the other federal. The Pennsylvania Superior Court upheld the dismissal of 23 lawsuits brought against two French companies that manufactured powder ingredients used to make the drugs. And a U.S. District Court handed down a ruling that will make litigation for plaintiffs who "opted out" of a federal class action settlement more difficult and costly.
