Asbestos Cases Could Keep Koch Lawyers Busy

Koch Industries is buying Georgia-Pacific Corp., but it's too soon to tell what will happen to Georgia-Pacific's 51 in-house attorneys or its outside law firms. Measures to Privatize Cities Roil Georgia Legislature

The debate over Georgia legislation that would allow private companies to tax citizens and build roads, sewer lines and schools with limited government oversight has grown so intense that lobbyists are fighting over monikers. Proponents say the bills create "community development districts" or "infrastructure development districts," while opponents call them "private cities" or "sprawl machines." And some are accusing Gov. Sonny Perdue and House Speaker Glenn Richardson of being too personally interested.
