Cognex Corp., a small Massachusetts high-tech company, has funded an unusual, decade-long court offense against several so-called "patent trolls." In-house counsel Todd Keebaugh estimates that the company has spent roughly $3 million to $4 million in fees fighting one opponent, Acacia Research Corp.
