Pachulski Stang Wilmington Partner Selected as ACB Board Director
Pachulski Stang Ziehl & Jones has announced that Wilmington partner Laura Davis Jones has been selected as the Third Circuit's director on the board of the American College of Bankruptcy (ACB), and that San Francisco partner Debra Grassgreen has been selected as chair of the international committee of the ACB.The court found that debtor owner and liquidators of a furniture company were not required to provide the 60-day Federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act notice because the imposition of various government orders due to the coronavirus outbreak and the outbreak itself constituted an unforeseeable business circumstance and natural disaster that exempted the debtor from the WARN Act.
Court Denies Debtor Diocese's Motion To Authorize Process for Sale of Campus
Government sanctions that blocked the transfer of shares did not preclude the court from authorizing the eventual issuance of writs of attachment, pending government approval, as mere authorization did not alter sanctioned body's continued ownership of the shares and therefore did not effect a prohibited transfer.
