Duane Morris Lobbying Group Sues Founding Director Singel

The government relations subsidiary of Duane Morris has sued one of its founding directors, former Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. Mark Singel, alleging that, without proper notice of his resignation, Singel tried to take the company's files, staff and clients to his own firm. The lawsuit claims that Singel breached several parts of his employment agreement. Other claims against him include copyright infringement, trade libel, breach of fiduciary duty and civil conspiracy.

Starting Salaries Keep Growing at Big N.J. Firms

First-year associate salaries at New Jersey firms continue to climb. As of January, Lowenstein Sandler will bump its first-year rate to $125,000, making it the highest-paying New Jersey-based firm. And Archer & Greiner has announced a 17.6 percent salary increase. That's proportionally larger than other firms, but still brings the pay at Archer to just $85,000. The Haddonfield firm says it doesn't need to pay as much as regional competitors because of its free parking and attractive location.
