2,000 Three Mile Island Cases May Proceed
Both sides can claim victory in a federal appeals court ruling in suits brought by 2,000 people who claim they were exposed to radiation in the 1979 nuclear reactor accident at Three Mile Island. The three-judge panel of the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled the trial judge properly tossed out the claims of the first 10 plaintiffs because expert witnesses could not establish the accident caused exposure to radiation.
