Long-Delayed Justice Brennan Biography Moving Forward

The long-awaited authorized biography of the late Supreme Court Justice William Brennan Jr. is back on track. Biographer Stephen Wermiel said last week he has recruited a collaborator and co-author to help "jump start" the completion of the work, which began in 1986 while Brennan was still on the Court. New co-author Seth Stern says that he brings a new "generational" approach to the project -- the reporter and 2001 Harvard Law School grad was in fifth grade when Wermiel began working on the book.

A federal judge Tuesday rebuked attorney James Gottstein; Dr. David Egilman, an expert hired by plaintiffs; and New York Times reporter Alex Berenson for violating a protective order in a mass-tort action over the health risks of Zyprexa, an anti-psychotic drug made by Eli Lilly. The judge alleged that Berenson and Egilman had circumvented the order by having Gottstein subpoena Egilman for a case in Alaska, after which the documents would be sent to Berenson for an exclusive story.

Navratilova claimed she became "very dissatisfied" with the marketing of the Rainbow Card and told Do Tell to cease using her name and image. Do Tell's lawyers fired back with counterclaims that accused Navratilova of lodging false accusations in an attempt to "destroy" the company.
