Smaller Firms Pressured Into Layoffs Too
The wave of firm layoffs is reaching smaller firms in vulnerable practice areas. Pircher, Nichols & Meeks, a firm specializing in commercial real estate, announced last week that it is laying off eight attorneys and four staff. In a statement, founding member Leo J. Pircher praised those who were laid off and said there "isn't enough commercial real estate work to go around."
