New Deals

In a deal valued at $200 million, Imagem Music Group has agreed to purchase the rights to the songs by legendary American songwriters Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein, as well as The Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization. The deal includes songs from shows like "Oklahoma!," "Carousel," "South Pacific," "The King and I" and "The Sound of Music." The Rogers & Hammerstein Organization represents 12,000 songs, 900 concert works, 200 writers and 100 musicals. Also, two of Hollywood's largest talent agencies, the William Morris Agency and Endeavor Talent Agency, have agreed to merge. Though the terms were undisclosed, the combined company will generate an estimated annual revenue of $250 million to $300 million. About 100 layoffs are expected.
