A hacker stole a file containing the names and Social Security numbers of 1,500 people working for the Department of Energy's nuclear weapons agency. Although the theft occurred last September, senior officials were informed only two days ago and none of the victims were notified, according to the agency. Despite a weak economy, lobbying revenues in New Jersey grew again last year, and law firms dealing in state governmental affairs shared in the boom. The top 10 law firm lobbyists earned $6.3 million in fees last year, a hike of 11 percent from 2002, according to state Election Law Enforcement Commission figures.
