A snapshot of the 2007 partner classes at some of the largest law firms across the country shows wide fluctuations in the number of lawyers promoted to partner, compared with last year. But despite rollercoaster results, this year's new partner classes -- at least among 20 top shops -- represented about the same percentage of the firms' total partner population as last year.
