Eight Firms to Share $30M in Delta Bankruptcy Legal Fees

Delta Air Lines is on the hook for about $30 million in legal fees to its own bankruptcy counsel and to the counsel of the companies to which it owes money. On Monday, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Adlai S. Hardin Jr. approved the exact amount requested by eight separate law firms. Lead bankruptcy counsel Davis Polk & Wardwell was the top earner, receiving $10.3 million in fees and $603,539 in expenses. Delta must also pay about $9.9 million in fees to accounting firms, investment banks and other consultants.
