The recent salary increases for new associates in the United States may be having a ripple effect across the Atlantic Ocean. "We felt this year it was the right thing to do to be more in line with what we pay in the U.S.," says Weil Gotshal partner Michael Francies, whose London office recently boosted pay for newly qualified lawyers to the equivalent of more than $179,000 in U.S. dollars.
