PTO's Due Deference

For most of the 20th century, a decision by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to reject a patent application would not be reversed by the courts unless it was found to be "clearly erroneous." Apparently, that's too exacting a standard for the PTO. On Wednesday, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear arguments in Dickinson v.
