Employment Suit Not Time Barred

A plaintiff who sued the wrong company after it was acquired by a new concern is not barred by the statute of limitations from amending his complaint, a Southern District judge has ruled. Sharply criticizing an attorney for seeking to take advantage of confusion over the change in ownership of a security company, Judge Michael B. The Heir Apparent?

At the Anaheim Hilton Hotel, members of La Raza Lawyers of California, a group dedicated to Hispanic legal representation, buzzed with excitement and hope. Then in walked the man of the moment -- U.S. District Judge Carlos Moreno, a popular jurist in Los Angeles' Central District of California and the man political observers believe is most likely to be the next justice of the California Supreme Court.

Call In The Troops

"The End of the Old Leverage" was the cover line of the July 1993 issue of The American Lawyer, the teaser for a provocative argument that the fundamentals of the law business were changing for good.
