Calif. Federal Judge OKs Posting of Prop 8 Trial to YouTube

California federal Judge Vaughn Walker made it clear Wednesday that he will forge ahead with televising the federal challenge to Prop 8 -- but he also signaled he doesn't want to be the next Lance Ito. The trial, which begins on Monday, will be filmed by court personnel, Walker ruled, but it will not be broadcast live. Lawyer and Socialite's Son Draw Prison Terms for Looting Astor Estate

Anthony D. Marshall, son of New York socialite Brooke Astor, was sentenced Monday to at least a year in state prison for looting his mother's $132 million estate. Life During Wartime

With one terrorism-related case already on its docket, the Supreme Court is poised to add two more, setting the stage for a term dominated by civil liberties issues during wartime. On Friday, the Court will consider Hamdi v. Rumsfeld, which tests the rights of an American citizen captured overseas and held in the U.S. as an enemy combatant. The justices could also decide whether to review a case that asks if the government can withhold the names of post-Sept. 11 detainees.
