Bingham McCutchen to Acquire Swidler Berlin

After eyeing the Washington, D.C., market for years, Boston-based Bingham McCutchen plans to acquire the ailing Swidler Berlin, a Bingham spokesman confirmed Thursday. So far, computer chip giant Intel Corp. has signed on, along with big names.

Exxon suit spills into high court

When he filed the first major lawsuit after the 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill, famed California lawyer Melvin Belli proclaimed, with a measure of glee, "There will be native Alaskans, sea otters, beavers marching into court for years on end. It'll never be over." Hyperbole aside, Belli has been proven right. No sea otters have been spotted, but lawyers are certainly still marching into court.

The Price Is Right for Summer Clerks

Says Mike Ross, "It was kind of hard not to burst out laughing out of shock."
