'Pit Bull' Lawyers Reprimanded by Fla. Bar

Fort Lauderdale, Fla., plaintiffs lawyers John Pape and Marc Chandler were publicly reprimanded Friday by The Florida Bar for violating Florida Supreme Court lawyer advertising rules. The Chandler & Pape commercial features the image of a pit bull wearing a spiked collar and the phone number 1-800-PIT-BULL. The Bar found that the ads were not "objectively relevant" and were "deceptive, misleading or manipulative." But the reprimand comes at a time of sharp debate and possible changes in the rules.
