Trouble is piling up for SCO Group., the little software firm best known for its exceedingly large lawsuit against IBM Corp. The company faces potential delisting from Nasdaq after failing to file its annual report. Meanwhile, the company's largest shareholder remains embroiled in a legal fight with SCO Group's chairman. Still, SCO Group forges ahead with its 2-year-old case against IBM. Originally scheduled for a hearing this April, the case probably won't begin until early next year.

Ban on Nude Photos in Jail Upheld

Naked pictures are officially a thing of the past in most Phoenix area jails. The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday rejected a challenge by a now-former inmate who took issue with Maricopa County, Ariz. Sheriff Joe Arpaio's 1993 ban on "sexually explicit material." Arpaio, the self-proclaimed "toughest sheriff in America," said the prevalence of magazines such as Playboy in the jail system was causing rampant sexual harassment of female detention officers.

FTC Ruling May Hit Rambus Royalties

Rambus may not be able to collect royalties on some patents because of an FTC ruling that the company deceived a standards-setting committee and created a monopoly in the memory chip industry. The ruling, released Wednesday, reverses a decision from 2004, when an FTC administrative law judge ruled that Rambus was not liable in the matter. The FTC does not have the authority to impose financial damages, but it can require companies to pay back profits that the agency determines were ill-gotten.
